Sr. .NET Software Engineer

OVERVIEW
You will be responsible for internet/intranet design and development for the many business units in the company. Your code will be front stage, whether it is class library, a webservice, an ASPX page, or a middle tier framework. We design well, code smart and use the best tools.

Responsibilities include:
· Function as Engineering Lead for the design and implementation of User Stories and large-scale strategic projects
· Contribute to application architecture
· “Hands-on” development in C#, ASP.Net, ADO.Net and SQL Server 2000
· Recommend, follow and adhere to industry best practices
· Assist junior Software Engineers
· Provide software support for existing applications on a rotating basis
· Assist in the build-out of the company’s development environments

Experience with the 3-tiered web-based architectures, and the .NET runtime environment and framework is expected. Strong object oriented analysis and design skills are expected, as are strong data modeling and SQL coding skills. Competency in Windows OS environment is required. Must be familiar with agile development processes and be committed to thorough unit-testing and integration testing. Commitment to taking ownership, initiatives and documenting both design and code is sought. Strong written and verbal communications skills a must.

LEADERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
The company is looking for professionals with leadership qualities – someone who knows how to design software and deliver it. Someone who is equally comfortable implementing the right design pattern as he or she is explaining tradeoffs in scope and time to a business person.

You should enjoy working in a team environment, and be able to lead by example, whether it is following the team's agreed practices or in helping another team member. We value frameworks and patterns, merit-based decision making, treating others with respect, and on-time delivery. We value adherence to Best Practices and individual contributions and imagination.

We value hard work and learning on the job. The ideal candidate is dedicated to on-time delivery and client focus, without sacrificing quality, has probably led him to Extreme Programming (or other agile) practices, but with a respect for "right-sized" Engineering discipline.
